Dr Amanda Mullin, Director
Dr Amanda Mullin, MAPS, FCCLP, is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, a Clinical Psychologist, and Board Approved Supervisor with extensive training in Clinical Psychology. She is well-known for her work as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter and for her performance coaching work which sits uniquely with her clinical psychology skills.
A keen and committed contributor to her local community, Amanda writes, blogs and speaks on a number of mediums on wellbeing, including with Hills District Mums, a local Facebook group of over 20,000 local mums passionate about their family’s well-being. She works with local preschools and schools to improve staff and students well being. Dr Amanda also works with businesses to provide education and training on mental health employee assistance programs, and improve staff well-being.
She has worked with a wide range of clients in private practice, and completed extended training at the Macquarie University Centre for Emotional Health, a world leading research clinic which specialises in understanding the causes of anxiety, and developing highly effective treatments for anxiety disorders.
Dr Amanda has provided psychological services within the Hills Private Hospital, including the Eating Disorders Inpatient and Outpatient Program, and is an accredited consulting psychologist in a number of private hospitals, including Westmead Private Hospital where she assists with peri-natal issues including anxiety, depression and all things baby related, and Lakeview Private Hospital where she consults across a range of mental health issues for patients and delivers staff training on preventative mental health. Her Doctoral research included working with leaders in the field of mental health research to develop an effective online treatment program for anxiety and depression.
Dr Amanda is the proud creator of Mindworx Online, providing on-demand courses such as Help Your Anxious Child. Due to demand for her corporate and school services on wellbeing, neurodiversity and ADHD, Dr Amanda founded Think Differently, and, an ADHD’er herself, finds great joy in the diversity of her work which is underpinned by her passion for mental health and wellbeing.
Dr Amanda founded Mindworx Psychology in 2014 with a focus on building a centre of excellence for mental health assessment and treatment in Sydney Hills District.
Mindworx Psychology is a private, confidential. modern and friendly space designed for the whole family – mum, dad and child –our work with adults, and their children, now providing services across the lifespan from children to older adults. With a growing team of experienced Psychologists and support staff, Mindworx Psychology is focused on gold-standard, evidence based therapies. This sets a high benchmark in the Hills District, having been featured on Foxtel’s Industry Leaders, and being nominated for, and winning a number of awards including Western Sydney Awards for Excellence in Small Business, as well as being a repeat winner of the Local Business Awards for Outstanding Health Improvement services.
We could not be prouder of the work we do to help others. With the continued growth of Mindworx Psychology, and due to popular demand, Dr Amanda founded Think Differently in late 2018. Think Differently is focused on delivering preventative mental health interventions to a preschools, schools and organisations. It bring’s Dr Amanda’s voice to a larger audience through keynote talks. Think Differently offers one-on-one client work in the performance coaching space, with school and organisational workshops carefully designed to craft preventative interventions and deliver practical tools for change.
With a family of her own, Amanda understands the pressures families can face. She enjoys working with both adults and children, and has a particular interest in holistic health and in the treatment of emotional problems, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, stress management, sleep problems and ADHD. She is a popular speaker for both adult and child ADHD groups in Sydney, and has created a number of innovative and award nominated online courses.
Amanda’s approach draws heavily on the latest discoveries of neuroscience, teaching emotional regulation techniques, as well as working closely with clients to make helpful changes in thinking, and behaviour. She offers a number of gold standard therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting techniques and Solution Focused Therapies.
Amanda works extensively as a performance coach for individuals, groups, and with organisations to provide Executive Coaching services. She is a popular keynote speaker and presenter in Sydney as well as the Hills District, and works with local organisations to provide education on topics ranging from parenting skills, building resilience, emotional well-being, performance improvement, mindfulness, and managing stress in the workplace.
Amanda sees clients by prior appointment only at Norwest, Baulkham Hills – in Sydney Hills District, Monday – Friday.
She consults on-site for businesses by prior appointment.
Amanda works with clients by appointment via secure telehealth, and face to face at the Practice in Baulkham Hills, NSW.
Amanda has completed the Australian Governments Covid-19 infection control training and employs strict hygiene and physical distancing measures for face-to-face work in line with any guidelines.
